A committee of experts was mobilized for the textile sector, to inform the work of the public authorities and help build the French environmental labelling method. This committee ensured that the latest knowledge in environmental analysis was taken into account, that the proposals were relevant and that the overall system was coherent. Unlike the Food Scientific Council, this committee does not issue opinions or formalize common positions.
The committee was made up of academic and professional experts from the textile and environmental assessment sectors. It met for 6 half-day sessions over the course of 2023. It was made up of permanent members, and guest members depending on the subjects dealt with.
